Well, I’ve finally taken the plunge and installed solid state drives on my two Win7 desktops. Some Win7 users have been disappointed with the performance of their solid state drives, so I wanted to see if there really was a Win7/SSD performance issue.

Happily, once I made these two simple configuration changes my solid state drives were really flying, and I have to admit I’m very impressed with their performance.

Fortunately, Windows 7 is aware of the proper use of the TRIM command, so my drive shouldn’t be suffering from slow-downs as I put more data on it in the future.
