When you have decided on buying a new mattress because the old one doesn’t “cut it” anymore, you should start with a basic process of research and comparison. A good comparison that you can make is between Stearns and Foster and Simmons. Why these two? Because, well, you will realize why after you read the following lines:
Take a look at the warranty
If you were to pick a mattress based on the warranty it provides, then you would surely be picking a Simmons mattress. Most models they sell have a 20 year warranty which just places it in a category of its own. For your information, Stearns and Foster offers a 10 year warranty. You can be the judge of which company has a bigger trust in its products. You don’t need to read any Simmons or Stearns and Foster mattress reviews to make up your mind regarding this issue.
See what models each of them have to offer
These 2 companies have a relatively low amount of models on sale, with Simmons coming on top with 5 models. The Stearns and Foster company only has 3 models available for sale. This aspect is not always important, but if you like a larger area of mattresses to choose from, then the two companies might not be suited for you. You can always have a look at some Simmons or Stearns and Foster mattress reviews online before you go in stores to see what they offer, and this way you might even discover that these brands are not interesting for you at all.
Problems
Both have similar problems and the biggest one seems to be sagging. This can happen after a long period of time or it can happen after only a half a year, which is not good at all. There have been complains from some persons about this particular problem happening soon after purchase. This means that they should invest more into their models (both companies) and try to make them better. Now, don’t get the idea that if you buy a S&F or a Simmons mattress you will see it sagging in a matter of months, because this happens to about 2% of the customers. It’s not a large percentage but it can be improved.
Pricing
Simmons mattress prices are almost the same as S&F, so it’s just a matter of preferences when it comes to pricing.
