It’s much cheaper than a brick and mortar business. All you need to pay for is the domain name and the hosting costs. What many people do is continue to work at their normal jobs while working on their online business part time. When the business starts taking off, they can afford to quit their real jobs. Just be aware that a business takes a year or two before it starts making enough money to support their owners. It can be hard to find the time to make this work when you have a real job, but it’s necessary if you want to quit your job.

Why do people start their own online business? Because people want to make more money. As an employee, you are only paid when you work, and only a small portion. If you are the owner of a business and you have a great idea that sells for millions, how much money do you make? If you are just an employee of that same business, you will make far less. It depends on when you need the money really. If you need fast money, being an employee will grant you that, but you get a far smaller payout.
